Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation is preparation to set up a kalagram to encourage rural craftsmen. This planned project will have a model place for tourist where they can face to face with rural arts and crafts as well as craftsmen. Investment cost of this project is Rs. 12 crore and this kalagram will spread in near about 15-20 acres land. In this kalagram handicrafts item like clothes, crockery, jewellery, paintings and village related item will available for sell. It is expecting that this project will ready before the forthcoming Kumbh mela which held in 2015. This kalagram will setup near the Nasik said the MTDC Regional Manager (Nasik Division) Mr. Pradnya Bade-Misal and also said we give opportunity of shopping for tourist who visit this city. Furthermore a training center will also be setup in the kalagram. The aim of this project is create a healthy environment and exposing the public to indigenous traditions and the same time to fulfill the gap between craftsmen and the purchaser.
