Kerala Government identified that tourism is a key sector for state and now tourism sector will drive the state’s future growth. Kerala Government comes with come with some interesting proposal for global investors. Kerala Government organizes a meeting of global investors to take a part in this conference which named 'Emerging Kerala’ from September 12, 2012 in Kochi. In this proposal government propose for tourism development in the northern districts of the state. Kerala tourism department looking for private investors which invests in some key projects of state. In this proposal including star category hotels at EduHealth City Panakkad, destination boat club botanical garden, forest lodge Nelliampathy. Some of the other projects which are also open for the private investors are an underwater aquarium in Arookkuty, adventure sports arena and hospitality cottages at Vagamon, Mist Valley Resort and Spa and Spice Valley Resort Idukki. Kerala Tourism Minister Mr. AP Anil Kumar announcing these projects and said tourism ministry wants to boost up the tourism infrastructure in the state and engross of people’s contribution on a larger scale.
