Day 1: Delhi
On the first day of your Markha valley adventure trekking tour, our GHIJ representative would welcome you at the Delhi airport. Get transferred to a hotel and prepare for the onward journey.Day 2: Delhi - Leh
We proceed today morning to take a morning flight to Leh, and check in at a hotel on arrival. Take the rest of the day off for leisurely activities and visit the markets of the city. Stay overnight at the hotel.Days 3: Leh
Today, we would take the day off to prepare well for the approaching trekking tour. Relax and spend the day at your leisure.Days 4: Leh - Spituk - Zinchen
Today morning, we would drive for 10 kms to arrive at Spituk from where our trek would begin. We will cross the Indus River and enter the valley of the Zinchen river. We will stay overnight in a camp at a nearby village.Days 5: Zinchen - Yurutse
After passing the beautiful Zinchen valley, we climb up to the height of 4900 metres. It is a difficult footpath and the tourists need to be really cautious here. Afterwards, we cross Gandala and then follow the long descent towards Shingo. After some time, we would arrive at Kangri Massif.Day 6: : Yurutse - Ganda La - Skiu
Follow path along the mountains to cross the valley. We then cross Ganda La and after a descent of around 2 hours, reach Markha valley to arrive at Skiu.
Day 7: Skiu - Markha
Today, we go further trekking on the right bank of Markha and treat our eyes with wonderful flora. Upon crossing the right bank, we also cross the barren plain and arrive at Chaluk. Then we walk along the left bank and climb towards Markha village then.
Day 8: Markha - Hankar
We start trekking towards the main valley today on the right bank. We would arrive at the Humlung monastery and then carry on with the trek to reach Hankar which is a beautiful abode of the local people here.
Day 9: Hankar - Nimaling
We follow a better path today and cross a broad valley on the right side. The valley then becomes narrow and high and cross bridge on the left bank to reach Tchatchuste. We would again climb pastures to reach Nimaling. This place is known for its verdant beauty in the entire Ladakh region.
Day 10: Nimaling
Today, we take the day off and spend time in leisurely activities at Nimaling.Day 11: Nimaling - Kongmaru La - Shang Sumdho
Cross the Markha valley today and take the trail leading to Kongmaru La. We walk up the trenches to reach Chukirmo and later arrive at Shang Sumdho, a beautiful camp located in groves beside a monastery.
Day 12: Shang Sumdho - Hemis
We would trek up to the most important monastery of the region today. Hemis is known for its gigantic Thanka, which is one of the largest in the world and is displayed once in 12 years.
Day 13: Hemis - Thiksey - Shey - Leh
From Hemis monastery, we would drive up to Shey monastery today. Shey gompa was earlier a summer palace of the kings of Ladakh. This place is known for its 7.5 metre tall Buddha statue plated with gold. We then drive to Thiksey monastery, which is perched on the top of a hill. Don’t forget to visit the summer palace of the old king of Leh. In the latter part of the day, we would drive up to Leh.
Day 14: Leh - Delhi
Today morning, our GHIJ representative would arrange for your flight to Delhi. On arrival, check into a hotel and spend the day at leisure.
Day 15: Delhi
Spend the day preparing for your onward journey back home.
Day 16: Delhi
Our GHIJ representative arranges for your airport transfer today from where you can board an onward flight.
