Day 1: Delhi - Kathmandu (1063 kms)

BoudhanathOn the first day of your journey, GHIJ representative will transfer you to the New Delhi International airport for a flight to the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu. Upon arrival at Kathmandu, meet our GHIJ representative who will arrange for your overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 2: Kathmandu

After a hearty breakfast, start your day in the Himalayan Kingdom with a morning sightseeing tour of the city and a visit to the Swayambhunath. There is a lot to do in the city. You would be delighted to see the durbar square, Hanuman dhoka, the ancient royal resident quarter, Mahadev and Parvati temple, and Macchender Bahl, a royal place for both the Buddhists and the Hindus and the temple house of Kumari, the restal virgin or the living goddess. After visiting these historical sites, don’t forget to take a look at the bustling market places of Kathmandu.

The historical site of Swayambhunath dates back to around 2500 years back and it is believed that when water was drained by Manjushri, the god of wisdom, the radiant lotus of the valley settled. The 5 dhyani Buddhas accompanied by their consorts are enshrined at the base of the Stupa. Do visit the adjoining museum.

After lunch, you can go on a tour to Patan by visiting the Old Newar city. See the magnificent golden gate, the sky high temple of Teleju and the statue of Yogendra Malla among the other temples. Delve deeper into the culture of this beautiful city by taking a stroll down the streets lined with old windows, carved wooden balconies, curio shops and markets.

Days 3: Kathmandu

Today, you will go for an excursion to Bhadgaon, Pashupatinath and Bodnath. Bhadgaon is a newar city wherein you can visit the ancient gateway, residential quarter of Bhupendra Malla, temple of Natyapole in pagoda style and other temples. Pashupatinath is popularly known as the Varanasi of Nepal and is the most illustrious shrine of Lord Shiva located on the banks of the sacred Bagmati. Non-Hindus are not permitted inside the temple. However, even a walk in the surrounding areas is a rewarding experience. Bodhnath is reputed as one of the largest stupa in the world. This Stupa has the all-seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. This was built by the king Mana Deva to get over his sins in the 5th century AD. This stupa is laid on an octagonal base with prayer wheels. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Days 4: Kathmandu - Pokhara (230 kms/5 and a half Hours)

On the fourth day of your journey, drive up to Pokhara which is also known as the valley city in this Himalayan Kingdom. This place, known for its lush farmlands, thickly forested hills and nearly half a dozen lakes is a perfect holiday destination for nature lovers. Check into a hotel and relax during the leisurely evening in the hotel. Stay overnight at your hotel and relax for an eventful day ahead.

Days 5: Pokhara

After breakfast, our GHIJ representative arranges for a day long sightseeing tour of the Pokhara valley, which is the 124 square kilometre landscape at an average altitude of 900m.This valley is cut by the Seti Gandaki River. The excellently fertile soil has made this valley a perfect nursery for a wonderful assortment of flowers and plants. A spectacular view of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Machhapuchare peaks awaits you here. A wonderfully landscaped region, Pokhara is definitely going to rejuvenate you. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Days 6: Pokhara - Chitwan (230 kms/6 hours)

Chitwan National Park In the morning, we drive up to the Royal Chitwan National Park, which prides itself as being the country’s largest forest region with a varied array of wildlife. On arrival, check into a hotel and stay overnight.

Days 7: Chitwan - Kathmandu (265 kms/6 and a half hours)
Catch up with the bustling wildlife with an early morning jungle safari and feel lucky to spot rare species like one horned Rhinoceros, deer, sloth bear, leopard, wild boar, fresh water dolphins, crocodiles and nearly 350 species of birds besides the royal Bengal tiger. Back from the jungle safari, pack your bags and get ready for the next destination. Next we head to Nagarkot, a famous hill station located in the eastern side of Kathmandu. You can get a panoramic view of the Eastern Himalayas and the Mount Everest from this place. Don’t forget to see the sunset which is simply beautiful and cannot be described in words. Arrive at Kathmandu and check into a hotel for overnight stay.

Days 8: Kathmandu - Delhi
A GHIJ representative will help you to arrive at the international airport to catch the flight to Delhi today.
