Such a happy ending isn’t it but let’s walk down the age of Mughal dominion and you will say its not over yet a lot needs to be revealed…

Shockingly historians revealed that no court chronicles has mentioned any love tale between Shah Jahan and Mumtaz, no manuscripts have evidence that the monument was built to express love of Emperor Shah Jahan for Queen Mumtaz. Rather evidence states that it was a temple of Lord Shiva snatched by Shah Jahan to built royal graveyard…

Shah Jahan soon realized his faults and along with his court’s wise heads he scripted a love tale that will be eternal forever.  Just to popularize his architecture and hide his faults the proudest creation of humanity was crafted. But history will never forgive Emperor Shah Jahan for his cruelty, wickedness’, and shrewdness. Hence the grief behind Taj and Shah Jahan’s tragic end is a Poetic Justice.

Lets Take A Quick Glance at Illusion of Myths That Made Taj A Crown of Seven Wonders………………………..

“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it’’…. George Santayana (American Philosopher)

When you travel, are you seeking 100% rest and relaxation? Or do you find yourself drawn to the history of a destination as a way of getting to know it.

Visiting memorials can be captivating, moving, unnerving and upsetting … here is a short list (in no particular order) of world’s famous memorials.

*Taj Mahal, Agra, India
The Taj Mahal in Agra is a moving memorial for all the right reasons. It’s about a man missing his beloved wife. Emperor Shah Jahan was so bereft when his beloved Mumtaz Mahal died that he decided to construct the most beautiful building in the world to house her body.
Visit Taj during the full moon night for a mesmerizing experience.

* Ground Zero, New York, USA
The Ground Zero in New York where once stood the World Trade Centre is one of the most visited building site in the world. It’ll be a few years before the One World Trade Centre is completed.

* Jallianwala Bagh, Amritsar, India
To gain a deeper understanding of what made India the place it is today, plan a trip to India and in particular Amritsar to the spot where British troops, without warning, blocked off a square before firing 1,650 rounds into a crowd of 5,000 peaceful protestors.

* Hiroshima, Japan
The death toll from the first atomic bomb explosion is estimated at 200,000 (5 years after the blast). Hiroshima has many memorials to the event, including the Peace Memorial Hall.

* Sedlec Ossuary, Sedlec, Czech Republic
The small chapel in Sedlec, Czech Republic, is decorated with the bones of more than 40,000 people. There are no horrors committed here-it is ossuary, creepy but overwhelmingly beautiful.

* Son My Memorial, Vietnam
It’s hard to believe that this tranquil rural spot was the setting for one of the most horrifying crimes of the American war. As you walk through rice paddies and vegetables gardens, it is difficult to believe that this is the place where largest mass killing took place in Vietnam village by US Troops.

The Taj Mahal- “a poetry in Stone”

“Not a piece of architecture, as other buildings are, but the proud passions of an emperor’s love wrought in living stones”—- Sir Edwin Arnold

Just imagine the light of the setting sun, falling on this white marble mausoleum. Wow what a view it would be. Simply breathtaking!!
Righteously said “”sheer poetry in marble”, no photos can do justice to a “live inspection” of the fascinating white marble. Promise or no, Shah Jahan poured his passion and wealth into the creation of just such a monument- the super flawless Taj Mahal……

So, here I bring forth some of the snapshots from the team of Go Heritage India Journeys as to what strikes their mind when they think about the magnificent marble of Agra……
Here’s a look……

Taj Mahal- The Teardrop Of Agra

31 May 2011
In: Taj Mahal Tour

Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore described the Taj Mahal as “a teardrop on the face of eternity” and this elegant phrasing will come irresistibly will come to the mind when you will visit Taj Mahal- the world famous Mughal tomb.

I arrived at the South gate of the complex after sunrise dropped off by a camel tuk-tuk. Now I had to walk 200 meters to the place. There was a long queue waiting at the ticket office. I entered the Taj; it was marvelous, and, I was pleased to discover just as beautiful close up as when seen from a distance across its ornamental ponds and gardens.

I won’t write more here; rather, let me share some of my images of this stunning place….let them do the talking….

Ultimate experiences…worth the crowd

The herds come to these places for a reason. Don’t hate them just because they’re popular or you’ll miss out. This exclusive excerpt gives you an idea of Top tourist hot spots around the planet worth the queues…

*Angkor Wat, Cambodia
Tourists creep over Angkor like ants over a picnic blanket. But it’s worth joining them to register your first coup d’oeil of this shrine-city’s awesome main temple, the world’s biggest religious structure, Angkor Wat, with its lotus-shaped towers and extraordinary bas-relief.

* Prague’s Old Town, Czech Republic
Prague’s Staré Město
(Old Town) is wildly crowded day and night. The town is surrounded with historical edifices such as the Old Town City Hall with the famous Astronomical Clock, the imposing St. Nicholas Church and Church of Our Lady before Tyn, and many houses and palaces of various architectural styles and colorful history plus restaurants and bars.

* Eiffel Tower, France
Men love to build towers (perhaps it’s something about the shape) and Gustave Eiffel was no exception. Commissioned to build an eye-catching entranceway for Paris’ upcoming Exposition Universelle, he eventually unveiled his 300m-high iron icon in 1889.
The structure has won global admiration for its graceful architectural form and has stood its ground, despite various attempts to demolish it.
Put it on must-visit-list, after all, 6 million people a year can’t be wrong.

* Florence, Italy
Florence
is Italy’s renaissance jewel and few cities can correspond its classic beauty. Shop for gorgeous head pieces, leather and jewelry or just sit in an espresso shop and swoon over handsome passers-by. The town is virtually tourist free (and cheaper) in winter.

Florence, Italy

* Pyramids, Egypt
Khufu, who around 2560 BC commissioned the Great Pyramid which dwarfs two similar structures at Giza. Khufu’s mammoth burial monument is the only surviving member of the original Seven Wonders of the World, and that should be enough to tempt you to see it silhouetted against a North African sky.

Pyramids, Egypt

*Taj Mahal, India
The Taj Mahal was completed at Agra in 1653 by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan to glorify the beauty of his favorite (but dead) wife Mumtaz Mahal. So, is this minaret-ringed marvel with its domed mausoleum, white-marble calligraphy and bejeweled inner chambers a romantic dream come true, or is it a rich folly to which the labors of 20,000 people over 22 years should not have been devoted? You be the judge. Make a tour to the Taj Mahal during the full moon for unmissable views of the Taj.

Taj Mahal, India

*Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe & Zambia
Victoria Falls
is an astonishing sight, the result of a 1.7km-wide stretch of the Zambezi River falling into a crack in a basalt plateau and being crackled in a narrow gorge. Try to catch these 108mhigh falls during the wet season.

Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe ,Zambia

* Grand Canyon, USA
Arizona’s desolate back-country is one of the last places you’d expect to bog down in traffic, but this is typically what confronts visitors to the Grand Canyon. The canyon measures 29km at its broadest point and 1500m at its deepest. The North Rim gets around 10% of the number of visitants that head to the South Rim. So plan a trip right away.
